New Jersey Officer’s Tragic End Following Disturbing Arrest

A longtime police officer from New Jersey tragically ended his life at a state park on Tuesday, nearly nine months after being arrested for sharing explicit images and videos involving himself, his wife, and their two young children.

Brian Dibiasi, 40, was discovered deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in Lower Park, Hopewell Township, shortly before 1 a.m., as confirmed by local authorities.

Both Dibiasi and his wife, Elizabeth, also in law enforcement, lost their jobs after a troubling arrest earlier this year.

The charges against Dibiasi included four counts related to possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials. Additionally, both he and his wife were charged with behaviors that could impair a child’s morals.

Lawyer Jerome Ballarot expressed that Elizabeth was in shock, stating she had no awareness of her husband’s troubling behaviors. “Nobody anticipated this outcome,” Ballarot remarked, suggesting that while Brian’s actions were certainly problematic, they weren’t as severe as the allegations suggested.

Authorities contend that in early January, Dibiasi shared 36 explicit media files that included images of his wife and their young sons. Investigators supposedly found chat logs where he mentioned his children being present during sexual activities with his wife.

Reportedly, he was involved in an online fetish group that utilized an artificial intelligence tool to generate inappropriate images, which he shared within that group.

While formal charges are pending, there’s an ongoing investigation into the situation. Ballarot mentioned uncertainty about how Dibiasi’s death might impact the case but remained hopeful for a favorable outcome for his client.

Brian had served on the Hamilton Police Department for 21 years, while his wife dedicated 18 years to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
