The New England Patriots and former player Julian Edelman are partnering with boycotted beer brand Bud Light to host a fan experience contest for this year’s NFL Draft.
The team and former players are working with the struggling beer brand on a giveaway called the Bud Light Easy Wish NFL Draft Experience. The project will give one fan the chance to fly on a Patriots plane and meet the team’s first-round pick.

Edelman has come under pressure for a year-long boycott of the beer brand, which has been under pressure for a year-long boycott for the dual flack of telling customers it’s “unsophisticated” and hiring transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. As for who the Pats will select when the time comes, Edelman thinks it will be one of UNC quarterbacks Drake Maye, Caleb Williams or Jaden Daniels. But he cautioned that there were “zero sources” of information to communicate that within the team.
This year’s NFL Draft begins April 25th in Detroit.
