Former Penn State player Julian Fleming’s girlfriend dies in tragic ATV accident

A tragic ATV accident in rural Pennsylvania has left wide receiver Julian Fleming seriously injured and his girlfriend, Alyssa Boyd, dead. Reports indicate that 24-year-old Fleming was driving a Yamaha Quad along country roads near the New York border when the crash occurred, with Boyd accompanying him.

Boyd, a University of Alabama student, suffered “major injuries” and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to her social media. Fleming, who resides in Pennsylvania, was hospitalized at Guthrie Troy Community Hospital with serious injuries.

Both riders were not wearing helmets, as confirmed by state police. Local media have identified Boyd as a former college football player who previously played for the Nittany Lions at Penn State.

Social media posts revealed that the couple were in a relationship, and reports suggest the collision may have been caused by a deer that was struck during the ride. The family of Boyd chose not to comment on the tragedy when approached.

Fleming is known for his impressive high school football career at Southern Columbia High in Catawissa, Pennsylvania, where he earned the title of Pennsylvania Player of the Year in 2019 and was recognized as the top wide receiver recruit nationally.

After committing to play college football in Ohio, he competed in 38 games for the Buckeyes, recording 80 receptions and seven touchdowns totaling 990 yards. Following his graduation in December 2023, he transferred to Pennsylvania State University, where he played 16 games but suffered injuries during the latter part of the season.

Fleming signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft, but his contract was rescinded three weeks prior to the fatal accident due to a failure to pass a physical examination.
