Former 'SNL' star believes Jasmine Crockett's Senate campaign would be a poor financial choice

On the latest episode of the podcast “Las Culturistas,” former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Bowen Yang and host Matt Rogers shared their views on Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s Senate campaign, labeling it a financial “waste.” Their discussion kicked off with a segment where Rogers candidly critiqued various cultural issues, eventually setting his sights on politicians like California Governor Gavin Newsom and, subsequently, Crockett.

“We’re at a point where politicians can no longer be so overtly self-serving,” Rogers stated, urging listeners not to donate to Crockett’s campaign. “Don’t waste your money on her,” he emphasized.

Yang agreed, echoing Rogers’ sentiment. “Seriously, just don’t do it. It’s a bad idea,” he cautioned, insisting that funding efforts for candidates like Sarah Gideon in Maine would be more worthwhile. “That money is hard to come by,” Yang added.

Rogers, while expressing no personal animosity toward Crockett, suggested her articulate nature might be a barrier to her success in broader electoral contests. “If Beto O’Rourke couldn’t secure the Texas Senate seat, I doubt she will either,” he noted, casting doubt on her chances.

The two hosts also reminisced about their past support for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Yang voiced regret over his endorsement, saying it now feels absurd. Rogers maintained he had no second thoughts, claiming they put in significant effort to win.

Rogers also critiqued Newsom’s chances in the presidential race, asserting he lacks viability. “Honestly, the best action he can take right now is to send a message to Savannah Guthrie about her recent voice surgery,” he remarked, hinting at the governor’s perceived ineffectiveness.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Crockett’s office for a response to the podcast’s comments.
