Former spouse of NYC teacher involved in sex scandal labels gunfire at his home as 'attempted murder'

The ex-husband of a teacher from NYC, who is reportedly linked to the school principal, recently fired six gunshots at her home in Staten Island. This incident occurred just three days after the Post reported on the scandal.

The NYPD is currently looking into what they’re calling a disturbing attack on her fiancé, Nicholas Sinodinos, at his residence.

“My life has been pretty upside down since,” he shared.

Detectives are attempting to establish a connection to Jacqueline Sinodinos, 28, who works as a teacher at PS 21 on Staten Island’s North Shore. Her inappropriate relationship with principal Anthony Cosentino came to light thanks to a special committee member involved in a city investigation.

Nicholas, who works as an engineer at NYC Health+ Hospitals, claims that Jacqueline and her aggressive mother, Toni Marie Lucchese Kaminsky, wrongly accused him of instigating a damaging article published on August 10th.

Three days later, at 1:20 AM on August 13th, a man dressed in a white parka approached Nicholas’s home and fired six shots. Two bullets penetrated the front entrance before passing through the living room and into the bathroom.

Nicholas and his fiancé were asleep on another floor and only woke up thanks to their barking dogs.

“Everyone in the neighborhood heard the shots,” Nicholas said.

The NYPD categorized the incident as causing “reckless danger to property,” which they classify as a misdemeanor.

“That’s insane,” Nicholas remarked, insisting that this should be considered an attempted murder.

The Staten Island District Attorney’s Office has sought a subpoena for Jacqueline’s cell phone records as part of the ongoing investigation. However, a judge denied this request, and DA spokesman James Clinton has not commented further.

“It’s ridiculous that the DA can’t access phone records,” Nicholas stated. “It could have either implicated her or cleared her innocent.”

Just a day after the shooting, Jacqueline filed for a family court order to restrict Nicholas’s access to their two children, a move he is contesting.

Later, on August 27th, Jacqueline was arrested for allegedly violating a protective order by texting Nicholas and harassing him.

She pleaded not guilty and was released without bail. Her attorney claimed that Nicholas failed to provide the required documents for the children’s health insurance, while he insists they are covered under his policy.

In connection with the shooting, the attorney stated, “There’s absolutely no involvement on her part, or she would have been arrested.”

Nicholas filed for divorce last year after whispers of Jacqueline’s relationship with the principal surfaced, coupled with concerns over potential conflicts of interest in the city’s employment policies.

In light of this situation, the Department of Education has removed Cosentino from PS 21, although no further disciplinary action has been disclosed. Meanwhile, Jacqueline continues to teach at the school.
