Former “Strictly Come Dancing” star Artyom Chigvintsev has been arrested in California on suspicion of domestic violence.
The professional dancer, who won the BBC competition in 2010 with celebrity partner Kara Tointon, was booked into Napa County Jail on Thursday morning, according to online prison records.
It is not clear what led to his arrest, although Chigvintsev has posted $25,000 (£19,000) bail.
Chigvintsev went on to appear on the American versions of Strictly and Dancing with the Stars, and in 2017 he was partnered with his future wife, WWE star Nikki Bella.
The Russian dancer first appeared on Strictly in series eight in 2010, partnering former EastEnders actor Tointon and their relationship blossomed into a real-life romance that lasted several years.
The 42-year-old reached the show's semi-finals in 2011 alongside actress Holly Valance, and was paired with veteran TV personality Fern Britton for the 2012 series.
He last partnered Coronation Street star Natalie Gumede in 2013, when the pair finished as runners-up.
The couple have a son together, who was born in 2020 just hours before Nikki's twin sister, Brie Garcia (aka Brie Bella), announced the birth of her second child.
The siblings appeared on the E! reality show Total Bellas for five years.
Nikki Bella and Chigvintsev previously revealed they were expecting a child just two-and-a-half weeks after getting engaged in Paris, and said they would tie the knot in 2022.
His arrest came just days after he celebrated his second wedding anniversary with his wife.
A representative for Chigvintsev has been contacted for comment.
