A former Minnesota state legislator has been arrested on suspicion of providing alcohol to an 18-year-old woman he met on a dating app and brought to his vacation home.
Jason Metza, 44, is a Democrat who was appointed by Gov. Tim Walz, now the Democratic vice presidential nominee.

The woman told police that the man picked her up from her home and took her to a cabin, where she drank about four drinks and was “tidy but alert, able to speak for herself and thinking rationally.”
When police questioned Metsa, he admitted to meeting an 18-year-old woman on Tinder and said he asked her if she was 18 when they met.
He is due to appear in court in October.
Metza served in the Minnesota State House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. Appointed He was appointed by Walz to the Iron Range Resources and Regeneration Commission in 2019, with the mission of implementing Walz's “One Minnesota” vision.
Walz has had his own run-ins with the law over drinking: While working as a teacher in Nebraska in 1995, he was arrested for drunk driving after speeding nearly 100 mph and later pleaded guilty to reckless driving, but downplayed the incident after entering politics.
He has been criticized for numerous lies and exaggerations about details of his career.
