Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg Sentenced to 5 Months in Jail

Allen Weisselberg, former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, was sentenced to five months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of perjury in connection with former President Donald Trump’s New York civil fraud trial.

Mr. Weisselberg stood for a brief sentencing hearing Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court and was ultimately sentenced to five months in prison at Rikers Island after pleading guilty to multiple counts of lying. The Associated Press reports that this is not the first time the Trump Organization’s former CFO has served time in prison or Rikers Island, specifically for “evading taxes on $1.7 million in company perks, including a free apartment in Manhattan and luxury cars.” He added that he did not serve the 100 days he served last year.

President Trump posted $175 million bail this month to prevent New York state from seizing his assets as his civil fraud case continues on appeal.
