Former Vikings player Jack Brewer attributes the Minnesota lawmaker murders to Tim Walz.

Jack Brewer, a former Minnesota Viking and University of Minnesota football player, commented on the recent shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of a state legislator and her husband, along with injuries to another lawmaker and his wife.

Brewer, who played college football for the Golden Gophers before joining the Vikings in the NFL, expressed discontent with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, claiming the state has become the “capital of chaos.” He stated, “We need to start calling this what it is. These people have lost their hearts. We are heartbroken to see one of America’s most amazing states turning completely under Governor Tim Walz. Minnesota is confused,” in an interview with Fox News Digital.

Reflecting on his time in the state, Brewer mentioned, “I played for the Vikings. I played for the Gophers. I lived in Minnesota for years. It wasn’t like this. People were respectful. People are against it and can still have a conversation.”

He further emphasized his point, saying, “Minnesota has become the capital of America’s chaos. That’s not true. It doesn’t reflect the true people of Minnesota. There are many good people out there. But the liberal hubs around Minneapolis and St. Paul are dangerous. Tim Walz is its leader.”

The suspect in the shooting, Vance Luther Belter, 57, is currently being sought after. According to two sources familiar with the case, Belter recently completed a Ph.D. and served on the state’s Workforce Development Committee, appointed by two Minnesota governors for advancing learning and service at Stritch University.

Belter had been appointed by Governor Mark Dayton in 2016 and was reappointed by Tim Walz in 2019 as a private sector representative on the council. His term expired in 2023.

Walz’s office did not respond immediately to a request for comments regarding the situation. Reports indicate that Belter had impersonated police officers while shooting Senator John Hoffman and his wife at their home early Saturday, leading to serious injuries before proceeding to the home of former Democratic chairman Melissa Hortman, where he fatally shot her and her husband.

Brewer believes this incident is indicative of the current leadership’s failures and has called for a “return to masculinity.” He stated, “On this Father’s Day, Minnesota wants to focus on his father’s recovery—protecting women, protecting his family. Tim Walz is an example of a weak, hindered leader. It’s not God’s fathering. It’s pathetic.”

He concluded with a broader reflection on societal issues, saying, “It’s terrible. The root cause of all this is evil. When you’re willing to attack, rid, riot, protest—even within your party—you believe that something is too different, the Democrats went left; you’re under attack if you’re not a fierce liberal. Whenever you give Satan’s power, he shows his face. That’s what we’re witnessing now.”
