Former worker of tech CEO Andy Byron alleges he was a 'toxic' leader prior to Coldplay incident

The high-tech CEO of a camera company has drawn attention for a public display at a Coldplay concert, where he was caught in an awkward hug with an employee, prompting remarks about his “toxic” management style. A former colleague shared with the Post that people were “laughing at his ass” following the incident.

Andy Byron, who is married, quickly gained internet fame after the moment with Christine Cabot, the company’s chief human resources officer, was broadcast on the big screen at Gillette Stadium. This sparked conversations among his previous coworkers, as many felt Byron had overstepped professional boundaries.

One source mentioned, “The group chat among former employees is buzzing with laughter about what happened—everyone feels he’s been laid bare.” They noted Byron’s reputation in the workplace as somewhat abrasive, often prioritizing sales in a manner considered “toxic.”

So far, Byron and his company have not responded to inquiries regarding the situation.

When the “Kisscam” caught them, Byron had his arms around Cabot, and they held hands. Upon realizing they were on camera, Cabot covered her face and turned away, while Byron attempted to hide his face from view.

Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, initially thought he was witnessing a sweet moment until he sensed something was amiss. “They’re either cheating or just really shy,” he remarked. He later added, “Holy sh-t. I hope we didn’t do anything wrong.”

It appears Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, while Cabot recently finalized a divorce from Kenneth Thornby. They initiated their divorce in 2018, concluding it in 2022, but it’s unclear if Cabot has since remarried.

Byron stepped into the role of CEO at the company in July 2023, a transformation that was reflected on his LinkedIn profile. The company recently completed a $93 million fundraising effort with backing from prominent investors like Bain Capital and Salesforce. They plan to use this funding to enhance research and development and broaden their international reach.
