Christian Artist Shares Journey Through Struggles
This month, Christian artist Forrest Frank opened up about his past battle with suicidal thoughts, finding solace in Christ during those difficult times.
He spoke at an event called UniteUS held at Grand Canyon University, attended by around 7,000 students. The gathering, which took place in the Global Credit Union Arena, saw 4,300 individuals rededicate their lives to Christ. UniteUS is a student-led initiative that emphasizes worship and spreading the gospel on college campuses.
At 30 years old, Frank shared with students that, at one point, he felt like “the person I was on the outside and the person I was on the inside were two different people.”
His journey took a significant turn while he was attending Baylor University during his sophomore year, when he experienced a life-changing moment with Christ.
“There was a time in my life when I felt suicidal and wanted to end my life,” Frank recalled. “And the beauty of that is that I died with Christ. My body passes away and is gone forever. I can live with Christ forever.”
Known for his genre-blending style, Frank has reached a wide audience, particularly on TikTok, where his music frequently goes viral. He reminisced about a service where he knelt down and “surrendered himself to God.”
“Everything changed from that day on,” he said. “When I completely surrendered, everything changed from that point on.”
Frank encouraged his audience to “surrender themselves completely to God” and voice their willingness to give everything to Him. He reflected on his own experience, stating, “You can have my reputation. You can have all my plans. I gave everything to Jesus. I put everything on the altar. I said, ‘You can have it.’”
UniteUS has three more events scheduled for November in Cincinnati (November 5th), North Carolina State (November 11th), and Clemson (November 18th).
“Gen Z, you are hope,” said Tonya Prewett, the founder of UniteUS. “And you are bringing about the greatest recovery our country has ever seen. We will never stop fighting for you and your generations, because you are worth fighting for.”
