It took Fox News anchor Shannon Bream just 30 seconds on Sunday to highlight the political headwinds facing President Joe Biden.
Before interviewing the show’s guests, Bream said,Fox News SundayHer team requested interviews with “dozens” of Biden’s surrogates, but none were willing to publicly defend Biden.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Biden’s position as the Democratic presidential nominee is becoming increasingly untenable.
“Before we get into our guest, there’s something I want to make sure our viewers at home know,” Bream began.
“Our team has been in contact for days with dozens of lawmakers, Biden supporters and allies, and has engaged with the Biden-Harris campaign multiple times,” she explained.
“But not a single guest has been able or willing to come on the Today show and defend his decision to remain president and a presidential candidate,” she continued. “So we’re going to have a conversation without that voice, and that’s what we’ve been working day and night to avoid.”
While none of the Democrats who support Biden’s candidacy agreed to defend him on Fox News, Bream did have the opportunity to interview a Democrat, former Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio).
Of course, the problem for Biden is Ryan. Call on the President to step down Give way to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Not only was Fox News unable to book a surrogate for Biden, but one of the president’s biggest defenders, Rep. James Clyburn (R-South Carolina), was also unable to do so. He canceled an interview scheduled for Sunday. Appeared on ABC News’ “Face the Nation.”
With Biden’s surrogates failing to appear on television to defend him, repeated leaks about his meetings with Democrats, and a growing number of Democrats calling for Biden to resign, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Biden’s position as the Democratic presidential nominee is becoming increasingly untenable.
Despite pressure to drop out of the race, Biden remains adamant he will run.
“I want you to know that despite media and other speculation, I remain in this campaign, fight to the end, and am firmly committed to defeating Mr. Trump,” Biden wrote in a letter to Democratic lawmakers on Monday.
So far, five House Democrats have called on Biden to drop out of the race. A lot of people behind the scenes are saying that..
