Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on Monday explained the scrutinized “women who like cats” comment, saying vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance “is probably going to lose.”
Vance has come under fire for a 2021 interview on Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” in which he mocked a number of Democratic women, including Vice President Kamala Harris, by calling them “kid-free cat-loving women.” Kilmeade warned that Vance was losing the debate by trying to explain his comments and seek attention.
“He said on the podcast, [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s] “She’d said in the past, ‘I don’t know what it means to have kids when the world is in chaos with climate change,’ and that was his response, but Trey Gowdy brought up the story of two nuns he met who were great Americans who loved America,” Kilmeade said. “What about George Washington? He didn’t have kids. Does that make him a bad American? And he said there are great Americans who want to have kids and there are great Americans who don’t want to have kids.”
“He wants to explain himself. The thing is, when you’re explaining, you usually lose. All they want is for him to sit there forever explaining his comments. He’s done a lot of interviews, he’s been on a lot of podcasts, he’s done a lot of promotion for ‘Hillbilly Elegy’ and the movie and the book. So they’re going to bring up all of this,” he continued.

Vance Protected Speaking with Fox News’ Trey Gowdy on Sunday night, the senator said the political left had taken his comments out of context “extremely.” The Ohio senator accused his political opponents of being “clearly anti-child, anti-family” and argued that having a child is “the most selfless thing” a person can do. “But there are many people who don’t have children for a variety of reasons, and they are absolutely wonderful people who can participate fully in the life of this country. Trey, that’s not what I meant. If you look at what the left has done, they’ve fundamentally taken this out of context and, in fact, actively lied about what I said,” Vance said Sunday.
“Trey, what I think is true — and this goes to the heart of what I said in my comments three years ago and will continue to say — is that the left has become increasingly and explicitly anti-child and anti-family,” the Ohio senator continued.
Harris’ campaign, along with other Democrats, have stepped up their attacks by repeatedly calling Vance a “crazy guy.” Guaranteed CNN reported on Monday that Harris likely won’t pick someone as “unusual” as Vance as her running mate.
“he [Vance] She can never become the Vice President of the United States. [Harris] “Kamala Harris is a much better candidate to be a single, hard-working woman in America than a guy who thinks she should pay more taxes, so I don’t think she’d pick someone as weird and creepy as J.D. Vance,” Swalwell said.
Liberal media and Democrats have accused Vance, who has spoken out about soaring divorce rates in 2022, of believing women should stay in abusive marriages. Vance assured voters he doesn’t hold such views, and on Fox News’ “Hannity” on July 15 accused the left of misinterpreting his comments.
