Fox News broadens its 2026 midterm election coverage on television and online

Fox News Media has announced plans for extensive coverage of the upcoming 2026 midterm elections, which will encompass various platforms including television, digital media, and podcasts. This initiative aims to deliver timely results and analyses directly to audiences, wherever they may be.

Bret Baier, serving as the chief political anchor and executive editor of “Special Report,” will join Martha MacCallum, who also holds an executive editor position as the anchor of “The Story,” to co-anchor the midterm coverage titled “Democracy 26.” Coverage is set to kick off at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 3, featuring a lineup that includes notable figures from Fox News such as Dana Perino, Brit Hume, and Laura Ingraham, among others.

As election night progresses, viewers can expect updates on House, Senate, and gubernatorial races, alongside projections regarding the congressional balance of power from the Fox News Decision Desk. Notably, Democrats are hoping to reclaim majorities in both the House and Senate from Republicans, who have held control since the 2024 elections.

Additionally, Fox Business Network will simulcast the coverage, continuing until 6 a.m. ET the next day. Viewers can look forward to a special early edition of “Fox & Friends First” at 4 a.m. ET on Wednesday, November 4.

The broadcast will utilize augmented reality and data graphics to contextualize results as they come in. This will provide insights into how voting patterns might differ from previous elections, enhancing the overall viewer experience.

Correspondents from Washington, D.C., including Jacqui Heinrich, Peter Doocy, and Aishah Hasnie, will contribute to the Washington-based programming. Moreover, over 20 correspondents from Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network will offer coverage from various locations across the country.

The “Ruthless Podcast” hosts, known for their distinctive commentary, will present a live segment titled “Ruthless Live! Midterm Election Show,” streaming from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on Fox News Digital and Fox Nation.

In the lead-up to the elections, Steve Doocy will hit the road for “Breakfast with Friends,” interacting with voters in swing states. His itinerary includes several diners across different states, starting in Ohio and concluding in Georgia just before Election Day. Following this, Todd Piro will continue the diner visits leading up to Election Day.

Fox News Digital is also preparing for a fully interactive experience with a “Midterms 2026” section on its app, featuring county-level maps and a new AI chatbot to answer questions about election results. This robust coverage aims to keep viewers informed with real-time updates as polls close.

Listeners can expect live updates through Fox News Radio on Election Day, hosted by Jared Halpern and Jessica Rosenthal. There will also be a Fox News Audio special the morning after the election, providing a summary of the results. Prior to the election, Fox News Audio will be delivering updates every 15 minutes on SiriusXM’s “Fox News Headlines 24/7.”

Special series and podcasts are also in the works, including segments profiling key states and additional episodes from popular shows, aimed at enriching the overall election discourse on the network’s platforms.
