After the presidential election, Fox News Channel has seen its share of prime-time cable news viewership soar as liberal networks MSNBC and CNN continue to hemorrhage viewership.
From the Nov. 5 election through Thursday, Fox News captured a staggering 73% of all cable news prime-time viewers, including advertisers, according to Nielsen Media Research. That includes 71% of the coveted 25- to 54-year-old demo viewers.
Fox News averaged 3.2 million total viewers in prime time, a 34% increase from before President-elect Donald Trump's election, and 417,000 in the key demo, a huge 46% increase.

Meanwhile, CNN averaged just 469,000 prime-time viewers, down 35% from its pre-election audience, and just 99,000 in the key demo, down 36%.
But MSNBC suffered the biggest losses versus CNN, despite having more total viewers. After the election, prime-time programming averaged 702,000 viewers, a whopping 47% drop, but the all-important demonstrations drew just 69,000 viewers, more than half the number before the election.
FOX News continues to dominate overall daytime programming, averaging 2 million total viewers since the election, while MSNBC and CNN have averaged just 368,000 and 527,000 viewers, respectively. I am.

Perhaps most notable this week is the popularity of MSNBC after co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski revealed that they met with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago. This is probably a rebellion among viewers against the morning program “Morning Joe.'' The left fan base.
MSNBC's “Morning Joe” averaged 1.1 million total viewers from 6 a.m. ET in 2024, but after the powwow with President Trump was revealed, liberal viewing declined. Viewer numbers dropped to 769,000 on Monday as viewers changed channels.

Viewership dropped again on Tuesday, averaging 683,000 total viewers, and fell even further on Wednesday, averaging just 618,000 total viewers.
Viewership for Thursday's major demonstrations was 55% lower than before the election.

CNN and MSNBC both face uncertain futures, with MSNBC being spun off from parent company Comcast along with other cable networks, marking a corporate divorce with its sister networks, so CNN is expected to move forward in the coming months. is expected to face mass layoffs and budget cuts. NBC News, a decision is expected to be finalized next year.
