On Saturday night, Fox News Channel saw a significant rise in viewership, driven by reports regarding U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facility. This surge outperformed all other networks, including ABC, NBC, and CBS.
During prime time, from 8 to 11 p.m. Eastern Time, Fox averaged 4.9 million viewers, far ahead of ABC, which managed only 2.3 million. Interestingly, this marked Fox’s third highest prime time Saturday viewership in its history.
In contrast, CNN and MSNBC lagged with just 1.8 million and 1.2 million viewers, respectively. Throughout this breaking news coverage, Fox captured 62% of the cable news audience, dominating the competition.
On a noteworthy note, Fox also topped YouTube news brands with an impressive 232 million views over the weekend.
Leading the coverage were notable figures like Brett Baier and Sean Hannity, who stepped in before President Trump’s address. Remarkably, Fox excelled in attracting audiences within the crucial 25-54 age demographic, averaging 898,000 viewers.
Viewership peaked during Trump’s speech, reaching a total of 7.5 million, with a remarkable 1.6 million in that demographic during the segment.
Fox News also emerged as the frontrunner in digital metrics, with Trump’s address generating around 2 million video views. Over the weekend, it was the leading news brand on social media, responding to public interest in the Iranian situation.
In terms of video views, Fox amassed 62 million on YouTube, outperforming all other news brands, according to analytics from the platform.
