Former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris in three key battleground states, according to a New York Times poll released Monday.
Trump is leading Harris leads by five points in Arizona, 50% to 45%, and in Georgia, 49% to 45%, but the poll shows she is closing in on the former president in North Carolina, where she leads 49% to 47%, according to the poll.
The Times conducted the poll from Sept. 17-21, surveying 2,077 voters across the three states.
Arizona and Georgia would be big wins for Trump in the general election because they are states won by President Biden in 2020. Arizona in particular represents a major surge in support for Trump, with Harris leading by five points in an August Times poll.
The Times survey came days after a Fox News national poll showed Harris leading Trump by two points, 50% to 48%, in the White House.
