Franklin Graham Meets with Donald Trump during Southern Border Tour

Evangelist Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, recently visited Donald Trump during his God Loves You Frontera tour of 10 cities on the southern border of the United States. -Revealed that he met with former President Trump.

“Look at the people we met at the border today! @realDonaldTrump was a huge inspiration to so many here,” Graham I have written in a Feb. 29 social media post.

The post also included a picture of Mr. Graham shaking hands with Mr. Trump at the airport.

according to church leaders, many people signed a petition calling on tour organizers to back out, given Graham’s conservative political views. The evangelist was also criticized for his photo with President Trump.

“Franklin, are you trying to make your followers think this was a voluntary meeting?” one person wrote. “Your entire tour is designed to support Trump! Do you think your followers are so uneducated that they’ll fall for your adolescent-level narcissistic manipulation tactics?”

Meanwhile, people told Graham they were keeping him and his tour in their prayers.

The 10-city tour kicks off on February 25th in Brownsville, Texas, and is scheduled to end on March 9th in Chula Vista, California.

More than 20,000 people have attended the free tour event so far, according to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Mr. Graham also disputed claims that he was visiting border towns because it was an election year.

Graham spoke last Wednesday at Shelby Park, which was recently taken over by the state of Texas in an effort to stop illegal immigrants from crossing the border.

“Pray for Texas, pray for this border, pray for Mexico,” he told listeners. “So many people come in with hungry hearts and broken hearts. They don’t know where to go or what to do, and they’re just looking for an opportunity in life.”

“New life is available to people by placing their faith and trust in the Son of God, Jesus Christ,” Graham continued.

The evangelist claimed that the border crisis is “one of the greatest opportunities we have to reach people on the border with the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Mr Graham also acknowledged how local residents are suffering from the large influx of immigrants.

“People here are disappointed,” he said. “I’m talking about local people, Texans who live here. It’s tough. Border Patrol is struggling, Texas law enforcement is struggling. The people who are there are overwhelmed.”

During Mr. Graham’s tour, local pastors spoke about the situation in America’s border towns.

Gilberto Herrera, pastor of Roca Farme Christian Community Church in Eagle Pass, said many people are feeling hopeless and are “looking to the wrong things to solve their problems.” Ta.

He added that Graham’s message “has the power to transform lives, families and our communities.”

“This is something God is doing supernaturally,” Don Crabtree said. “He’s turning people back to Christ.”
