Steve Baker is an investigative reporter at Blaze News. He’s working to explore the holes in the story of what happened on January 6th. He has a gentle demeanor and is a good friend to men. And on Friday morning, he turned himself in to the FBI. They told him to come in shorts and flip-flops because it would be easier to wear an orange jumpsuit and ankle iron. Let me tell you, he was wearing a suit and tie.
When I put him on my radio show on Thursday, he didn’t know what he was being charged with. We know it has something to do with January 6th, but the FBI refused to tell him what his charges were because he might “tweet” it. Heaven forbid he should exercise his First Amendment rights and defend himself in public.
There are many people who reported on January 6th. Why would Blaze his news reporter be strangled by them?
Let that sink in for a moment. The Sixth Amendment provides that all citizens have the right when accused to be “informed of the nature and cause of the accusation.” This is the same amendment that guarantees the right to a speedy, fair and impartial trial. I missed the exception in that amendment for reporters investigating January 6th. They overlooked the First Amendment exception that guarantees freedom of the press to everyone except reporters investigating government discourse.
Steve was in Washington DC on January 6, 2021 as a reporter. Why aren’t other reporters arrested? Or are they just reporting the truth using actual tapes and videos to show what really happened to America? Why is the FBI after him?
When doing research work, one person usually doesn’t do all the work. It’s a team. We have to scrutinize everything they come back with. Several independent people on our staff will have to review Steve’s work line by line and then go through an attorney to ensure the legal wording is accurate. We are very solid.
Baker is the guy who got a bunch of the Jan. 6 tapes, the guy who put the pieces together before anyone else could. This man is a journalist, a good journalist. That’s why they’re after him. On Friday, the FBI arrested the journalist and handcuffed him without informing him of the crime. Since he works as a journalist, he could serve time in prison.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the people they’re arresting are Blaze News reporters. There are many people who reported on January 6th. Why do Blaze he news reporters get strangled by them? Is it because we have something going on? Are we any closer to the truth about what happened that day? Are the elites afraid that their towers on the sand will crumble?
When the U.S. government can go after individuals, that’s when we know our republic is falling apart. I’ve always said that if they can go after Donald Trump, they’ll go after people like you and me. And now they are. But Steve Baker is undaunted, and neither are we.
This is what Steve said on my show Thursday as he prepared to turn himself in to the FBI. ”
This is the type of journalist America needs right now. This is what America needs right now. That’s why your support of Blaze Media is so important to us. You enable Steve Baker’s work, and as long as you enable us, we will never compromise on the truth, undeterred by those in power who seek to silence us. No, and above all we will not back down. I support Steve Baker.
