Peter Parker is getting some much-needed attention.
Tom Holland is expected to return to filming for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” next week, after a recent visit to the hospital.
The 29-year-old actor will be back on set in about a week. According to a recent report, this decision comes amid discussions among Sony executives about his recovery.
It seems the studio found it challenging to continue filming without him, rather than pausing production for the whole week.
It appears that this week-long break shouldn’t cause any delays for the movie’s 2026 release, as insiders noted that it would actually give the cast a moment to catch their breath amidst the hectic filming schedule.
Recently, Holland sustained a mild concussion while filming at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England. Reportedly, he “cracked his head” during a stunt that didn’t go as planned.
Despite the incident, Holland attended an event on Saturday with his fiancé and co-star, Zendaya. The couple, who got engaged late last year, seemed to enjoy themselves, posing with guests in their formal attire.
Filming for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” started in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 1st, and, well, it’s Holland’s fourth standalone turn as Spider-Man, diving into the aftermath of 2021’s “No Way Home” and leading up to “Avengers: Dome Day.”
Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, hinted at some intriguing developments for the film in July. He mentioned that, by the end of “No Way Home,” there’s a poignant promise about Peter’s sadness due to those close to him forgetting him. Feige believes Holland is, in fact, the right portrayal of Spider-Man.
Zendaya is set to reprise her role as Michelle “MJ” Jones, and other MCU characters are expected to join, including Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal as Punisher, and Michael Mando as Scorpion.
Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are also believed to be part of the cast.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
