It’s kind of like a ramped-up version of Framed, really. This horror franchise delivers the unsettling concept of horrific accidents, though, of course, they aren’t really accidents. Death, in a way, is like a character lurking in the shadows, tracking those who escape him through telling foreshadowing. It’s definitely not for those with weak stomachs.

You might be familiar with Le Corbusier, but have you heard of the architect who inspired him? The remarkable Irene and the modern villa she constructed in the 1920s take center stage in this beautifully crafted docudrama.

Wagner’s last musical drama will get its first staging at Glindeborn. Director Jeckeminsen aims to create a character we can really connect with. The music is conducted by Robin Ticciati, with Daniel Johansson in the title role and John Reeley as Garnmantz, along with Christina Stanek as Kundry. Andrew Clements

After taking a break for thirteen years, the Scissor Sisters (minus Anna Matronic) are back touring in the UK. While I’m not certain if they’ll play some of my favorites from earlier albums, there’s certainly room for their underrated tracks from Nightwork (2010). MC

This exhibit showcases stunning religious imagery, especially from the Hindu pantheon and explores early Indian art’s influence on modern religious practices. It also touches on the rise of Jainism and even features paintings from AD701–750.

Nikki de Saintfare & Jean Tinley
Hauser and Wirth Somerset, starting today, February 1st
This creative couple, known for their provocative work, is for this installment, with Nikki’s holes in art creating intriguing mythical creatures and Jean crafting absurd, surreal machines that engage the audience in a unique “performance.”

John Singer Sargent
Kenwood House in London until October 5th
The grand salon of this historic house provides a fitting backdrop for Sargent’s remarkable portraits of wealthy American women, who seem almost like characters from Henry James’ stories.
