Teresa Giudice recently disclosed that her daughter Milania, who is 20, had “fentanyl in her system” during an incident at Tampa International Airport. This incident comes just months after Milania was arrested on assault charges in New Jersey, following an alleged confrontation.
This isn’t the first time the children of “Real Housewives” stars have made headlines outside the reality TV spotlight. Teresa, 54, attempted to clarify Milania’s actions during a police encounter in Florida, as captured by bodycam footage.
According to reports, Milania responded to the police, claiming, “Cause I was laced … I go to college,” prompting her sister, Gia, to call her “reckless.” The timeframe of the fentanyl incident is still unclear, as is the substance Milania was allegedly given or who she thought was responsible.
In the bodycam footage, Milania was heard asking to speak with her mother, and the officer present told her to sit down, reminding her that she wasn’t in control of the situation. Following the footage’s release, Teresa took to social media, expressing her deep concern for her children.
Teresa emphasized that her children’s health and safety are paramount to her. The past few months have been tough for their family, with Teresa mentioning how Milania has faced significant heartbreak and trauma after losing two close friends. She assured that Milania is surrounded by love and support during this challenging period.
Milania has pleaded not guilty to the simple assault charge from June, and her next court hearing has been rescheduled for December 1.
In another case, KJ Biermann, the 15-year-old son of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, was indicted for multiple charges, including child molestation and aggravated sexual battery. He was charged with seven counts, which also included aggravated sodomy and false imprisonment.
The situation with KJ began after he was arrested in August, stemming from an alleged incident in April. Zolciak has denied the allegations against her son, who has been granted a $200,000 bond.
Additionally, NeNe Leakes’ son, Bryson Bryant, faced legal issues as well. He was booked on a contempt of court charge in July following previous arrests for failing to pay child support and violating probation. His earlier run-in with the law included being found with fentanyl, resulting in a probation violation.
Meanwhile, former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Alexa Curtin served a 68-day jail sentence in 2021 due to multiple criminal charges, in addition to probation and restitution requirements. She has since reflected on how her family’s portrayal on reality TV may have contributed to her struggles with addiction.
Clearly, the pressures of growing up in the public eye can lead to challenges that not only affect the individuals involved but also resonate through their families.
