Frozen meatballs sold at Aldi stores across the country are being recalled due to metal fragments being found.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a recall of Italian meatballs produced by Rosina Food Products, a company based in New York.

Specifically, around 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat frozen meatball products are being recalled due to potential contamination with foreign materials, particularly metal. This problem came to light after consumers reported discovering metal fragments in the meatballs.

Fortunately, there haven’t been any confirmed injuries, but officials recommend anyone affected should consult with a medical professional.

The impacted products were sent to Aldi supermarkets nationwide. The recall focuses on 32-ounce bags of fully cooked frozen Bremer Family Size Italian Style Meatballs, with each package containing about 64 meatballs.

These items were produced on July 30, 2025, and have a shelf life of 15 months.

Consumers should check for bags that carry a “best before” date of “10/30/26,” along with a timestamp on the back ranging from 17:08 to 18:20, and the business number “EST. 4286B” inside the USDA inspection mark.

FSIS encourages consumers to inspect their freezers and refrigerators, advising them to either dispose of the meatballs without consuming them or to take them back to the place of purchase.

If there are any questions about the recall, consumers can contact Rosina Food Products Customer Service at 1-888-767-4621 or via email at CService@rosina.com.
