Philadelphia Couple Pranks Porch Pirates with Dog Waste

Porch piracy has become a significant issue, and recently, a couple from Philadelphia decided to take matters into their own hands after a theft hit too close to home.

Travis Jaraffa and Lauren Goffredo explained to WTXF-TV that they were motivated to act when someone stole a box of toilet paper from just outside their home.

Jaraffa recounted, “I made sure to shake it up a bit, for a messy surprise, you know? It would all be in their hands.” Goffredo added, “Last night, someone walked away with a big roll of toilet paper. I thought, ‘Why not collect the waste from our dog and use it as bait?’” Their dog, Louis, is a French bulldog who inspired this unique form of payback.

So, the adventurous duo packed their dog’s waste into a box and left it outside overnight. The police confirmed this prank was put into action.

Surveillance footage later revealed a thief swooped in at 4 a.m. last Wednesday to snatch the package.

Jaraffa described the contents as “probably pretty gross. I shook it up well, so they would really get their hands into the mess.” Goffredo added, “It definitely had quite a smell.”

Ultimately, they hope this prank discourages potential thieves from stealing packages in the future. Jaraffa even mentioned to WTXF that he plans to help neighbors replicate this idea: “If anyone needs dog waste for their own prank, just let me know—I have plenty!”

The Philadelphia Police Department has urged residents to report thefts promptly, emphasizing that video evidence is crucial for investigations. They also noted that local residents are staying alert and sharing tips to help prevent further thefts.
