Conservative commentator Nick Fuentes has recently put forth the idea that not all aspects of woke culture are negative.
During an interview with YouTuber Andrew Callahan, Fuentes, at 27 years old, argued that woke culture may have some long-term positive effects. He stated, “I don’t think all Wakeism is bad. I really think it’s made people more respectful and empathetic,” while appearing on Callahan’s channel, Andrew Callahan’s Channel 5.

He also noted, “Wey-ism has gone too far. Edgelords have gone too far…I think we’re at a middle ground between saying the most extreme thing you can think of with no regard for anyone and claiming, ‘Everything is racist…you should lose your job,'” referring to a balance he’s observed. Fuentes expressed a thought on finding a “middle ground that’s probably classy and tastefully offensive in small amounts,” while Hunter chuckled in agreement.
“Honestly, 20 years ago, as a kid, I think there was a lot of brutality and hateful attitudes. Today, the younger generation—whether or not they identify as leftist—seems to be more respectful toward different ideas, lifestyles, and cultures,” Fuentes shared.
He humorously remarked, “We always joke that I’m far-right or some kind of white supremacist and I’m Mexican.”
Fuentes also drew attention for his striking phrasing regarding those who view the Confederacy positively during the Civil War. “These hillbillies killed 1 million white people to keep black people in America! They are the least based military in history!!!”
