Fugitive Apprehended After Airport Escape

A few weeks after evading capture, Cedric T. Stevenson was arrested and smiled while being transported back to Kentucky.

Stevenson, who had been removed from a flight at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on May 4, was recently recaptured, according to reports.

On Thursday, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky shared images and updates about Stevenson’s escape on social media. One photo showed him appearing cheerful on an airplane next to an officer.

The agency revealed that they had collaborated with a transport company at the airport and coordinated with the Seattle Police Department to ensure Stephens’s return was smooth and secure.

“We wanted to make sure he returned without any issues,” the agency remarked. They had worked with multiple authorities, including the TSA, and arranged for a lengthy transport procedure involving two direct flights.

During his initial flight, Stevenson managed to escape by boarding a light rail train just outside the airport, according to reports.

Video footage captured the moment he fled from the ticket counter, showcasing the chaos of the escape.

Images from the incident indicated he was handcuffed at one point, while in another, his hand appeared to be in his jacket pocket. It was noted that he was sought for multiple felony charges, including assaulting a police officer and possession of a firearm as a felon.

Seven years prior, Stevenson had faced accusations of shooting a police officer in Tennessee during a robbery.

Upon recapture, he was reportedly found in a Seattle neighborhood with the assistance of an accomplice. The authorities emphasized that the arrest exemplified their commitment to pursuing justice, reinforcing that no matter how far someone runs, they will eventually be caught.

Stevenson is now back in Kentucky, where he faces several charges against him.
