Fire Festival disaster

The 2017 edition of Fyre was the brainchild of McFarland and Rapper JA Rule. The duo touted the event as “a decade of cultural experience,” but when the drink arrived at Exma on the Bahamas, they attended thousands of dollars, followed by an inactive cheese sandwich, disaster relief style. I discovered there was no tent or music.

In particular, the festival's promotional campaign featured models such as Bella Hadid and Emily Ratakowski's parties on the yacht. McFarland promised travelers that they could party with a supermodel, but ultimately offered a disastrous experience. Many festival attendees posted photos on Shambolic Sheen's social media, leading to high-priced online ock laughs that many paid.

In 2018, McFarland was ordered to admit to wire fraud and confiscate $26 million over prison time. After serving his six-year sentence for less than four years, he was released into a half-hearted house and was under house arrest until September 2022.
