HBO has released a new trailer for the second season of the Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon. boy Does it look good?

I’m not going to lie, the first season was pretty boring. As a man, I’m not attracted to female protagonists just because they’re female protagonists. We need a little more than the lazy narrative of “I’m a woman, but I’m always ignored because I’m a woman.” That and the slow pace of the show was not to my liking. sorry. There’s nothing wrong with that if you like that kind of thing, but I can’t relate to it.
But since I wasn’t a fan of the original show until it picked up a bit in the later seasons, I decided to pick “House of the Dragon” without question.
If the trailers are to be believed, it looks like the second installment of the show will pick up the pace a bit. One of the bright spots of the first season for me was Matt Smith’s portrayal of Daemon Targaryen, which seems to be getting more attention going forward. Hopefully, the show can embrace the whining female protagonist trope and develop Darcy’s Rhaenyra Targaryen into a more compelling character than the average woman who is ushered into a position of power. To be honest, there’s nothing special about this story.
And if not… well, there’s still a dragon.
