“So, you got the message: review this statute and that statute and let the game begin,” he said.

Homan, speaking in Chicago this week, told local Republicans that he wants Illinois Democrats to “have a seat at the table,” but if they don't, “we want them to stand down for good.”

The comment prompted a fierce reaction from Democratic Rep. Delia Ramirez.

“Tom Homan, next time you come to #IL03 (an area made stronger by immigration) you better be prepared to meet some resistance,” she warned.

“You might think Chicago needs to get out of the way of President Trump’s mass deportation plans, but we’re going to do everything in our power to get out of your way.”

Ramirez's comments are the latest in a number of comments by Democratic lawmakers and officials across the country who have vowed not to cooperate with or outright resist the incoming Trump administration's mass deportation plans.

Denver's mayor said last month that he was willing to go to prison for opposing deportation. Homan responded to the mayor's statement by pointing to the same statute he cited in an interview with Fox Digital, saying he was prepared to go to jail.

He said Wednesday that Ramirez's opposition is to preventing the arrest of people who pose a threat to public safety.

“President Trump and I have made it clear from the beginning in every interview that we prioritize threats to public safety,” Homan said. “Elected officials who want to prevent the removal of public safety threats from their communities, especially when it comes to undocumented immigrants, are not doing their job because their job is to prevent public safety threats from being removed from their communities. Because your first responsibility is to protect that community.''

“No one should argue with eliminating threats to public safety. It's truly incredible that she is supporting even more criminals, especially in Chicago, for God's sake.” ” he said.

He also said the administration would prioritize the bloodthirsty Venezuelan gang Torren de Aragua. The organization has spread across the country and has established a presence in Chicago, along with other gangs.

“I'm not saying all criminals in Chicago are illegal aliens, but some criminals, many criminals, are illegal aliens. So not only do we drive them out of the community, we drive them out of the country. Let’s do it.”

“Now let the game begin,” he said.
