Garrett Wilson is full of motivation.
Shortly after news broke on Tuesday that the Jets were finalizing a trade for Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, the Jets' third-year wideout posted a shocking message on X.
“I have to go, and I have to do it now!” Wilson wrote Shortly before Tuesday.
The Jets are now in winning mode, especially after Monday's blowout 23-20 loss at home to the rival Bills, which dropped Gang Green to 2-4 on the season.
Hours after the loss, it was revealed that Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler, would be added to the team.
In New York, Adams will join a crowded but talented wide receiver room that also includes Allen Lazard and Mike Williams.
Wilson, the Jets' No. 10 overall pick in 2022, ranks atop the depth chart and leads the receiving corps in both targets (67) and receptions (41). According to ESPN.
In Weeks 5 and 6, he and Rodgers connected 21 times for 208 yards and two touchdowns.
Wilson had eight receptions for 107 yards and one touchdown against the Bills.
The 24-year-old wideout wasn't the only Jet player to publicly respond to Tuesday's bombshell.
Rodgers celebrated the news during his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” where he was joined by his friend and former Packers teammate Adams.
“Obviously I’m very excited,” Rodgers said. “Davante is a phenomenal player and a dear friend.”
Rodgers and Adams first teamed up in 2015, when the Packers selected the wide receiver out of Fresno State with the 53rd overall pick in the NFL Draft.
Adams was traded to the Raiders in 2022 and signed a five-year, $141 million contract extension.
The Raiders received a conditional third-round pick, which could become a second-round pick depending on performance, and the trade is pending confirmation.
The Jets will visit the Steelers on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 7.
