Garth Brooks went to great lengths to give Trisha Yearwood a proposal she'll never forget.
In the country music star's newly released book, Anthology Part IV: Going Home, Brooks reveals that he proposed in May 2005 at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, Calif. It was revealed that world greats Merle Haggard and George Jones were included.
Mr. Brooks writes in his book that Mr. Owens decided to start a nightclub with a large statue of a country music man. He called the night a “Bronze Legends” event, and the statues included Haggard, Jones, George Strait, Bob Willis, Willie Cash, and Owens himself.

Brooks was deeply involved in the statue's creation process, and Bill Raines, the artist who created the statue, said that once completed, Brooks' statue will remain that way for “hundreds of years” and cannot be changed. He clarified. After Brooks was informed of the statue's completion, he asked Raines, “Can you please put your wedding ring on it?”

Reigns gave the country music star a strange look, to which Brooks replied, “Because I have the love to do the same thing.”
“And the woman I would love for hundreds of years was going to be my wife… She was also going to be married to three little girls.”
Brooks detailed in his book that Yearwood was in Cincinnati for work in the lead up to the proposal, so he had the opportunity to fly to Georgia to pick up her parents.
“I had Jack and Gwen all to myself on the plane and asked them to marry their daughter. This was in the spring of 2005 and I had their permission. And now I… I have to ask my three daughters,” Brooks said. I wrote.
At this point in the book, Yearwood says she “wanted to say” she knew her now-husband was up to something, but “I had no clue.”

Now it was time for Brooks to ask his three daughters, Taylor, August and Allie, for permission to marry Yearwood. Brooks shares his children with his first wife, Sandy Mahr. They were married from 1986 until their divorce in 2001.
“I tell the girls to get dressed up for dinner. 'Dad, what are we going to for dinner?' I say, 'We're going out tonight, I'll tell you.' So, at this point they are 10, 8, and 6, we were having dinner and started talking about the future,” Brooks wrote. “And August or someone said, ‘Dad, are you coming to ask us about marrying Trisha?’” And I said, “Yes, I am.” And they were all fine. ”
“I said, 'But this conversation is deeper than that. She doesn't have kids, so if something happens to me, you have to take care of her. So, you guys. The three of us and Trisha have to get married. Well, we'll exchange rings and vows and everything.”

Brooks wrote that this conversation with his three young daughters made him very emotional.

“Then 6-year-old Allie put down her fork, looked at me, tapped me on the arm, and said, 'I've got your back, bra strap.' “I've got your back, bra strap.' It was. The conversation is over,” Brooks wrote.
Brooks wrote that he also asked for his ex-wife's blessing before making the big proposal.
“If Sandy had said no, it would have affected a lot of things. It would have put the brakes on because we had to love together as a family,” he said. Thankfully for Yearwood and Brooks, Sandy had no problems with their marriage. In fact, she thought it was “the right choice for our family.”

Brooks' friend Fred Reiser was the mastermind behind the entire proposal. Reiser made a deal with Haggard that he could cut the show if he attended the event, and Brooks booked a private plane for Jones.

“When they unveiled the statue, I held Miss Yearwood's hand. They've already unveiled Haggard, Jones, Strait…I mean, this is pretty cool. And I… looked at Trisha and pointed to the ring, and it was like everyone was there, but there was no one but us.
“And the first thing she did was grab her face and start shaking her head from side to side, and I was like, 'Oh, did I misread this?'” Brooks wrote. .

Yearwood said, “I know he was scared to death, but my first reaction was, 'No! There's no way this could happen in front of all these people! But yeah! Yeah! Yeah. !” he wrote.
At the end of the night, Brooks wrote that everything “went really well.”
The couple wed a few months later in Oklahoma, and Brooks' father served as a wedding attendant.
“And the woman I would love for hundreds of years was going to be my wife… She was also going to be married with three little girls,” Brooks concluded.
Since their marriage, Brooks and Yearwood have dealt with controversy.

The country music star was accused in October of sexually assaulting 'Jane Roe' during a business trip in 2019, according to court documents obtained by FOX News Digital. According to documents filed by Jane Roe, the woman was first hired in 1999 to do makeup and hairstyling. Brooks' wife, Yearwood. She started doing makeup and hair at Brooks in 2017, several years before the alleged incident occurred.
Brooks denied the allegations and amended the charges against Jane Roe in an Oct. 8 filing obtained by Fox News Digital. The “Match Too Young” singer accused the woman named in the complaint of attempted extortion, defamation, false invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Brooks' The Anthology Part IV: Going Home was released on Friday.
