Gavin Newsom reveals troubling truth about socialist takeover on hidden camera

California’s Shift Towards Socialism Acknowledged by Newsom

California’s Governor Gavin Newsom, a prominent figure eyeing the 2028 presidential race, seems unconcerned about what many view as a socialist shift within the Democratic Party.

Recently, undercover footage surfaced, showing Newsom expressing acceptance of the Democratic Party’s evolving identity and the increasing indication of radical policies being introduced by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

In the video recorded on October 17, Newsom is asked about the future direction of the Democratic Party, particularly from the perspective of younger voters eager for an advancement beyond traditional Democratic leadership.

His response highlights a significant shift in mentality: “I think no one is arguing to manage the status quo and fail more efficiently. The energy and demand for bold, not just incremental, change will undoubtedly shape the mainstream Democratic Party.”

He continues with a stark diagnosis of the current political landscape, stating, “You can’t play in the margins anymore. The system’s broken. It’s completely unbalanced, and we can’t manage the decline. We have to completely reimagine it.”

Interestingly, just last month, Newsom pointed out in an interview with PBS NewsHour that there is little distinction between the radical elements of the party and those represented by the DSA in terms of ideas.

The DSA’s proposals, if implemented, would fundamentally alter the United States. Their agenda for 2026 includes:

  • Proposals to abolish key governmental structures such as the presidency, Supreme Court, and Senate;
  • Expanding the House of Representatives;
  • Defunding the police and taking steps towards the abolition of both policing and prison systems;
  • Ending deportations, granting amnesty to undocumented immigrants, and abolishing visa caps;
  • Implementing ranked-choice voting across all elections;
  • Nationalizing major corporations;
  • Extending voting rights to noncitizens;
  • Transitioning away from fossil fuels;
  • Recognizing D.C. as a state;
  • Providing universal healthcare with comprehensive access to reproductive care;
  • Establishing reparations for slavery;
  • Easing abortion and surgery restrictions;
  • Enforcing universal rent control and declaring housing a human right;
  • Reducing military funding and closing overseas bases.

A recent New York Times/Siena University poll indicates that Kamala Harris is currently leading in the race for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination with 12%, while Newsom trails with 9%.

On the Republican side, Vice President JD Vance is ahead with 33%, followed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio at 23%, and Donald Trump at a surprising 3%, despite the 22nd Amendment limiting presidential terms.
