Gavin Newsom strikes a harsh blow to 'everyman' Joe Rogan

Gavin Newsom recently took to social media to criticize Joe Rogan, expressing disappointment that the podcaster hasn’t invited him on his popular show.

This came after remarks made by Rogan in August 2023, where he described Newsom as a “cardboard cutout” and a “fraud.” Newsom’s press secretary even jumped in to support those comments.

In a post reminiscent of President Trump’s style, Newsom declared, “Joe ‘Little Guy’ Rogan is too afraid to have me on his failed podcast. He knows I’d wipe the floor with him. So, while he fades into obscurity, he resorts to cheap shots from the sidelines.”

He further added, “All talk, no action. I’m always ready, little one. Or just keep hiding!”

Rogan had previously expressed skepticism about Newsom’s chances of becoming president on his show, dismissing the idea.

In the past, Rogan has critiqued Newsom’s political decisions, especially regarding vaccination mandates and inconsistencies about public safety protocols. He once said, “Nobody believes that guy. He’s a total fraud,” and described him as a “cold, narrative-driven politician.”

Rogan contrasted Newsom with former President Trump, asserting that regardless of opinions on Trump, there’s an unmistakable human element. He stated, “With Newsom, it’s like looking at this cardboard cutout of a person, and I don’t think people want that.”

Newsom has previously voiced his irritation about not being invited onto Rogan’s podcast. During an appearance on “Higher Learning,” he even directed a question toward Rogan, asking, “Why won’t you have me on your show?”

Newsom has lamented the one-sided nature of Rogan’s podcast, where guests often criticize him while he never gets the chance to respond. He believes he deserves a spot on the show.

The newspaper has reached out to Newsom’s office for further comments.
