George Clooney Prefers a Quiet Family Life in France
George Clooney, during a recent interview, shared his thoughts on raising a family far from the glitz of Hollywood. He and his wife, Amal, are parents to eight-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander. They’ve chosen to live in the French countryside, which, according to Clooney, is much better for their family.
“We live on a farm in France,” he explained. “I spend a significant amount of time there, though as a kid, I wasn’t a fan of the whole farm life.” Recently, he has embraced it more fully. “I was concerned about what it would be like to raise kids in Los Angeles,” he added. “In Hollywood, there’s a certain culture that could be pretty intense. In France, they don’t care about fame, and I want my kids to grow up without that pressure.” He mentioned the importance of shielding them from paparazzi and comparisons to other celebrity kids.
The couple owns several properties worldwide, including homes in Italy, England, and Kentucky. Earlier this year, Clooney reflected on his upbringing in Kentucky, where he often wished to escape the farm life. Ironically, he now finds himself back to those roots, even getting behind the wheel of a tractor.
Amal has also spoken about the challenges of maintaining their family’s privacy amidst constant public scrutiny. “Creating private moments is increasingly challenging,” she noted. “That’s why we make it a point to have fun at home and sometimes even collect everyone’s phones in a basket to enjoy uninterrupted time together.” She stressed the need for a balance between time spent with family and safe exchanges with friends.
As parents, both Clooney and Amal are aware of the invasions of privacy they face and are committed to minimizing these impacts on their children. Amal emphasized that, “Being a parent makes you more concerned about these issues, and we do our best to protect them from the spotlight.”
