George Clooney denies report claiming he and Brad Pitt earned $35 million for new film: ‘Bad for our industry’

George Clooney has disputed reports about his pay for his upcoming film with longtime friend Brad Pitt.

The New York Times Last week it was reported that the stars of “Ocean's Eleven” received more than $35 million each for their roles in the film.

At the film's press conference at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday, Clooney addressed the reports to gathered reporters.

I say that because I don't think it's good for the industry that people think that's the standard for pay,” Clooney said. Per person. “I think that would be awful. A representative for Clooney did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney also explained that he and Pitt had given back some of their salaries because the theatrical release deal for “Wolves” had fallen through and the film would instead get a limited release.

He went on to explain the current complexities of making and selling movies in Hollywood.

“Yes, we wanted to release it. [in theaters]I encountered some difficulties along the way. That's normal.
