Impeachment Talk from George Conway
Far-left Democrat George Conway has proposed impeaching both President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, suggesting that they might even manipulate the long-standing impeachment process of the U.S. Senate to achieve this.
Conway speculated that a Democratic majority in the Senate could allow them to shape the rules surrounding the impeachment process. He mentioned that it would be crucial to conduct a proper trial with live witnesses, enabling them to challenge any false statements made by the executives. “We could really put them on the spot,” he said.
He also expressed that a compelling trial presentation could disillusion some Republicans who might desire to protect their party’s integrity. “Vance is involved in actions that could warrant impeachment,” he claimed, hinting at the possibility of removing him from office.
With a laugh, Conway acknowledged the potential disruption of over 250 years of constitutional practices regarding impeachment. He expressed a need to reinforce the norms that have been taken for granted, insisting that if Congress fails to uphold them, no one will.
It seems there is a deep frustration behind these remarks. Conway’s rhetoric suggests a somewhat extreme desire to eliminate Trump and his influence, which he believes would restore the so-called norms of governance.
Interestingly, Conway is also campaigning for a Congressional seat in New York’s 12th District, aiming to take over from retiring Congressman Jerry Nadler. One might think he’s a fitting successor given their similar backgrounds.
In recent polling on March 6th, Conway managed to secure second place with 16 percent support for the Democratic primary set for June 13th. Leading the pack is Jack Schlossberg, who obtained 25 percent, while two other candidates have garnered only 11 percent, leaving a notable 33 percent of voters undecided.
It’s seen as a significant moment for New York Democrats to select a new representative, yet the lack of strong options seems to illustrate a missed opportunity. It should have been a straightforward task, but the situation appears more complicated than expected.
