Former Gov. George Pataki praised President Trump for moving to kill busy pricing. And he said New York needs a version of Doge that destroys its own cost.
Republican Pataki said Gov. Kathy Hochul “wanted money” from the $9 toll, as he entered Manhattan to fund cash-bound metropolitan transport. I stated.
“New York has enough money from taxpayers – making too much money,” Pataki told WABC 770S AM's “The Cats Roundtable.”
“They don't need more,” Pataki said. “New York is too expensive. The government is too expensive. You can use a little dog [Department of Government Efficiency] Instead of raising taxes at Albany and City Hall. ”
He noted that the MTA is seeking more billions of capital funds from Albany.
“It's never finished,” Pataki said of the proposed $65 billion five-year plan. “It's unsustainable.”
The MTA sued to stop the Trump administration from retracting tolls and congestion pricing.
New York's last Republican governor praised Trump, but he said he was baffled by the handling of the commander in negotiations to end Russia's brutal war against Ukraine.
Pataki said Trump appears to be more difficult than Russia and its leader Vladimir Putin, who invaded Ukraine three years ago, on February 24, 2022, than Ukraine and President Volodimia Zelensky.
Pataki has visited Ukraine multiple times as part of his relief efforts through his charity.
“President Trump's positioning in Ukraine has been completely wrong so far,” Pataki told host John Catssimatidis.
He compared it to how former President Joe Biden handled the Hamas-Israel conflict and put too much pressure on Israel in place of Hamas.
“Sadly, I think Trump is making the same mistake Biden made with Israel in the case of Ukraine,” the former third term governor said. “Instead of putting all the pressure on Putin, he is clearly a bad guy and a scary person – he is putting pressure on Ukraine.
“No one wants to end the war sooner than the people of Ukrainians,” he continued. “But the way to do that is not to put pressure on Ukraine, but to put pressure on Putin and Russia, because they are wrong. They acted like wild bars. …and they are those who should be under pressure to reach reasonable peace.”
Pataki called Putin “an anti-American, anti-West, anti-civilized murderer.”
The post reached the White House for comment.
Washington and Kiev were engaged in a nervous barb exchange over the past week.
Trump was trying to end the fight on the condition that Kiev said at one point was too positive for Moscow, and on February 19, Ukrainian leaders said they were “true society that is “a dictator without elections.” I'm writing this in detail.”
“In the meantime, we are well negotiating the end of the war with Russia. We can acknowledge that only all 'Trump' and the Trump administration can do,” he said, “The long truth of the social I wrote it with abusive language. Towards War – as directed by Ukrainian law.
“Biden never tried. Europe could not bring peace. Zelenkie would probably want to continue with the 'gravy train'. I love Ukraine, but Zelensky does a terrible job, his country has shattered and millions have died unnecessarily.
The post reported on Friday that tensions had cooled between Washington and Kiev.
The Trump administration is said to be close to dealing with Ukraine to acquire hundreds of billions of dollars worth of mineral rights, a huge step towards ending Russia's war on the European state.
