“GMA” host George Stephanopuros was “sad” after being forced to apologize after President Trump Fasco.
Disney, a parent of ABC News, agreed to resolve a honour-loss lawsuit in December over anchors claiming Trump was “deemed liable for rape,” resulting in multiple network sources. According to the story, it is rumored that Stephanopulos will be leaving. Abuse – in lawsuit by journalist E. Jean Carroll.
As part of Disney's contract with Trump, the former democratic operative who co-hosted “GMA” with Roberts and Michael Strahan was forced to apologise.
The entire episode turned out to be “employment” for the host “this week.” “This Week” hosts have been quarantining themselves more than usual since the settlement.
“It seems miserable for George,” the source said things could either be “dead” this summer or wait for him to pull the plug later this year, sources said. .
“He's definitely gone,” predicted the insider. “He's certainly a walking dead.”
Multiple sources have added that he can stay on the network in a lower profile way, and are probably working on film and television projects.
However, another source close to the network has shot down the story of Stephanopulos being miserable in “GMA.”
“This is nonsense. Anyone who watches 'GMA' can see him getting engaged, all in and committing as he has ever been. “The source added: “He's happy to be here.”
A representative from Stephanopoulos did not comment.
The network is currently bombarding around $75 million a year for Roberts, Strahan and Stefanopuuros. Given the shrinking TV audience and the importance of morning shows has faded, a huge amount of money has faded.
Roberts can bend her important influence in the network if the anchor sheet is open. She is expected to push “GMA” weekend anchor Gio Benitez with a good buddy.
“Robin calls shots in GMA,” an ABC News source said.
Recently Benitez I posted a photo to his Instagram account Roberts and her spouse Amber showed him smiling and his husband as he attended the film premiere about singer Gloria Gaynor. Roberts is the executive producer of biopics.
The caption below the Chammy Foursome selfie read: “To see @gloriagaynor It's really something to perform her megahit live show. A night to celebrate a new film executive produced by only one @robinrobertsgma“I Survive: The Story of Gloria Gayner,” aired on Saturday, February 8th. @lifetimetv. ”
“Everyone thinks GIO could become the new George,” said another source close to the situation.
“He's with the crowd.”
Another name that surfaced is Will Reeve.
“What if you could put Superman in 'GMA'? ” said the second source.
NBC's Willie Geist, who hosts “Today Sunday,” has also been wiped out at the rumor factory.
One insider added that ABC could also choose to stick to Roberts and Strahan. You can also tap on the “More Newsreader” type with a modest salary to fill out your morning team.
An ABC News representative declined to comment.
Disney has recently regained Stefanopuuros' contract, but that may not be a barrier to driving him out of “GMA.”
“That's how Disney works,” said a longtime former Disney executive. “They will re-sign your contract and then they will kick you out.”
“GMA” is a perennial morning rating champion, chasing “today” on NBC from fall.
In the final week of January, “NBC “Today” recently co-hosted Craig Melvin as co-host with Savannah Garsey following the Hodakotobu exit – a total of 2.7 million viewers and 705,000 people I got caught up in the key 25-to-54 demo. “GMA” attracted 2.66 million viewers and 459,000 people during the same period.
