On Saturday, two people were killed after a small plane crashed shortly after taking off from Georgia Airport.

Authorities responded to Covington Municipal Airport around 11:21pm after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it had lost contact with the aircraft.
“The officer responded to Covington Municipal Airport around 11:21pm after receiving a call from the FAA in connection with a single-engine aircraft that took off around 11pm,” Covington Police said. .
“After takeoff, there was no further communication from the aircraft. Officers found a forest aircraft just north of the runway,” they continued. “Two individuals were placed along with the aircraft and declared dead at the scene.”
The FAA, which works with the National Transportation Safety Board, is investigating the collision and confirming that the aircraft is Rockwell's commander.
No information has been revealed regarding the victim's name.
