Georgia man fatally shoots ex-wife before shooting her new husband, himself at shopping plaza

A Georgia man allegedly shot and killed a woman believed to be his ex-wife at a shopping plaza Saturday night, then shot her new husband and herself, police said.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, a heavy police presence was observed at Merchants Walk Plaza in Lilburn.

Lilburn Police said in a news release that the suspect, 62, entered Tana Food Mart on Lawrenceville Highway with a handgun.

The suspect then shot and killed a 57-year-old woman and shot another 62-year-old man in the leg around 6 p.m. The two victims reportedly worked at the store.

Police said after shooting the couple, the suspect shot himself in the head.

The suspect and male victim were taken to Northside Gwinnett Hospital for treatment.

Police said the suspect was in serious condition. The male victim is in stable condition.

None of the three people involved in the incident have been publicly identified by police as their families have not been notified.

Investigators said the shooting was a domestic violence incident. Police said the woman is believed to be the suspect’s ex-wife, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

According to WXIA-TV, police said preliminary information indicated the three were involved in an argument before the suspect allegedly shot the couple and himself.

This incident is still under investigation.
