A Georgia man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for brutally beating his two children, a 2-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter, for soiling their bedroom.
Dylan Michael Tennant, 24, was sentenced by Catoosa County Superior Court Judge Chris Arndt to 30 years in prison without parole. This comes after Tennant was found guilty last month on two counts of first-degree child abuse.

Tennant became enraged when the children left a mess in their bedroom, despite failing to properly supervise them, according to the release. Tennant repeatedly hit the children over a two-day period, including hitting his 2-year-old son with a board.
The man then took the children to the man’s friend’s house to hide the injuries he had inflicted on the children, the statement said.
When Tennant and the children returned home a few days later, the children’s grandparents and uncle immediately noticed bruises and injuries and called police, accusing Tennant of abusing the children.
Tennant initially denied hurting the children when questioned by law enforcement, claiming another family member must have done it. However, although Mr Tennant admitted he was aware of the severity of the children’s injuries, he never sought medical treatment for them.

Witnesses from the Department of Family and Children Services testified during the trial that the children’s bruises were some of the worst they had seen in their careers, according to the release.
A doctor with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation testified that the injuries were “not accidental” and were caused by “repeated blows with great force.”

Tenants are prohibited from having unsupervised contact with children and are not permitted to have contact with children under 18 years of age.
“Child abuse and crimes against children will always be aggressively prosecuted by my office.
