A Georgia father was found guilty by a Fulton County jury and sentenced to 50 years in prison for adding antifreeze to his newborn daughter’s breast milk.
The South Fulton Police Department announced Thursday night that Curtis Jack, who was charged with felony attempted murder and first-degree child abuse, was found guilty on all charges.
He was sentenced to 50 years in prison and 40 years in custody.

On October 16, 2020, Jack learned that his 18-day-old daughter tested positive for ethylene glycol, a chemical commonly found in automotive antifreeze, while she was hospitalized at Children’s Medical Center Atlanta-Scottish Rite Hospital. ,arrested. FOX5 Atlanta at the time.
South Fulton police announced that an infant was born on September 24, 2020, to a woman who worked with Jack, who allegedly insisted that Jack terminate the pregnancy. According to police, the two had been in an “intimate relationship” since January of the same year.

Jack admitted to South Fulton detectives that he added antifreeze to a bottle of breast milk he picked up from his daughter’s mother, who was still in the hospital after giving birth, on Oct. 1, 2020.

The man then delivered the bottle of poison to the baby’s grandmother. Her grandmother was also caring for another child while the woman was hospitalized.
Within 24 hours, the girl was in critical condition and it is suspected that she had been poisoned, police said.

At Jack’s trial, the baby’s mother and grandmother testified for the state, along with law enforcement officers and medical experts. A demonstration of how easy it is to poison breast milk was also shown in court.
