Georgia Mother Dies Saving Children from Fire

A mother who rescued her children from a house fire early Thursday morning in Griffin, Georgia, died from her injuries.

Firefighters rushed to the home on Old Atlanta Road after someone reported the fire. 11 Alive report Sunday. A woman and three children at the scene were immediately rushed to Atlanta.

“Spalding County Fire Marshal Rocky White said a woman in the home rescued one of the children from the home, and neighbors rescued two other children from the burning home,” the newspaper said. ” reported.

Relatives said the mother, Madison Hope Somerville, 23, died from injuries sustained in the fire.

“We miss her so much,” said Chasidy Somerville, the young woman’s sister, noting that her sister was not breathing on her own and had inhaled smoke.

She lived a beautiful life, even though it was cut short three days after her 23rd birthday. Madison was also an organ donor, so not only did she save three children, she would also save eight more lives. Madison was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend. She loved spending time with her babies and her nieces and nephews and she also loved fishing come rain or shine. Madison was a bubbly person who could easily make you laugh.

In a social media post Friday, Chassidy said I was grateful Some asked for help during these difficult times, and others called on people to donate items needed by families after the fire.

“If you want to help our family, they need clothes and everything. Thank you again,” she wrote.
