The Bulldogs (10-2, No. 7 in the CFP) fell behind 17-0 at halftime but were in control for much of the game before taking over in the Southeastern Conference next weekend. Even with a performance like that, they could have secured a spot in the College Football Playoff. championship game.
Carson Beck threw five touchdown passes, two of which came in overtime, in a game in which the Bulldogs never led until regulation ended at 27-all.
Georgia Tech (7-5) was led by Haynes King, who ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more.
But the Yellow Jackets suffered a seven-game losing streak to the Bulldogs, and the game was decided just minutes after midnight on a frigid night among the hedgerows.
