Georgia Parents Face Murder Charges After Baby Found Dead in Street

A couple is facing charges after a baby was found dead in the street in Fulton County, Georgia, WGAL reported. report.

According to reports, Joshua Wouters, 19, and Emily Dickinson, 20, both of McConnellsburg, are charged with murder, concealment of a child death and abuse of a corpse after the newborn baby was discovered at the intersection of North Second Street and Lincoln Way on March 11.

According to a criminal complaint cited in the report, Dickinson allegedly told investigators she threw the baby out of a window after giving birth at an apartment where both Dickinson and Wouters reportedly lived.

According to the report, Wouters allegedly told police that Dickinson had used a kitchen knife to cut the baby’s umbilical cord. Wouters told police she believed the baby died of blood loss after the cord was cut, and then was thrown out of the window.

Police said a pathologist determined the baby died from bleeding from a severed umbilicus.

Wouters and Dickinson were arrested and taken to the Bedford County Jail, where they are reportedly being held without bail.
