Fulton County Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade has sought a nondisclosure order in his divorce case amid controversy over an alleged “inappropriate” relationship with his boss, District Attorney Fani Willis.
Wade is leading the election interference lawsuit against 18 people, including former President Donald Trump, and is embroiled in a divorce from his wife of 26 years, Joycelyn Wade. A Cobb County Superior Court judge last week made public filings in Wade’s divorce case, revealing that Joycelyn Wade’s attorney had sought to remove Willis from answering questions about their alleged affair.
Wade’s lawyers argued in a filing last Wednesday that the nondisclosure order was necessary “because of the confidentiality of the parties’ financial information and documents.”
The unsealed documents also included bank statements showing Wade had purchased airline tickets for himself and Willis. He also paid for Royal Caribbean cruises and luxury hotel stays, but there was no direct evidence of an affair in the documents. Other documents show that although Wade was not charged with drug abuse, he was questioned about drug and alcohol use.

They claimed that “there appears to be no rational explanation for their trip other than a romantic relationship.”
Willis has neither confirmed nor denied the romantic relationship allegations.

Willis fought the subpoena, claiming he had nothing to do with the divorce and that the affair allegations were irrelevant to the case. Her attorney, Cinque Axum, said in a court filing that Joycelyn Wade “conspired with other stakeholders in the criminal election interference case to use the civil discovery process to embarrass and embarrass District Attorney Willis.” , it was suppressed.”
