Georgia TE Brock Bowers declares for 2024 NFL Draft

Brock Bowers has announced his selection for the NFL Draft.

The Georgia tight end announced on social media Tuesday night that he plans to turn professional after three seasons with the Bulldogs.

Bowers, who won two national titles at the University of Georgia, is projected to be one of the top overall picks in this year's draft and is expected to go in the top half of the first round.

“Words cannot express how grateful I am for what the last three years have brought me. It has been an incredible privilege and honor to play for this university. It has given me memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you,” Bowers wrote in an announcement on Instagram. “First of all, I would like to thank my family for always supporting me throughout my journey. Especially my mother and father, who have traveled all over the country countless times.

“Thank you to Coach Smart and Coach Hartley for giving me the opportunity to play for this program and for the time, energy and effort you put into me on and off the field. You all challenge me in everything we do. I am truly grateful to the support staff for helping me get through all of the ups and downs of being a student-athlete.”

Bowers, 21, has been a Georgia standout from the moment he stepped on the field for the school in 2021, winning the John Mackey Award twice (2022 and 2023) as the nation's top tight end. He is the only player in football history to do so. .

In his three seasons, the tight end recorded 175 receptions, 2,538 receiving yards, 26 receiving touchdowns, and added five rushing touchdowns.

The 2022 All-American ranks among the top five in school history in receiving yards, receptions and receiving touchdowns.

He had 714 receiving yards on 56 receptions as a junior.

Bowers also had touchdown catches in both of the Bulldogs' national championship games (2021 and 2022), and the team finished with a 38-2 record in games he played in.

Bowers underwent ankle surgery this year, which caused him to miss three games.

The draft begins April 25th in Detroit.
