Waltz's contact information was obtained by a provider without the same name and was linked to Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and Signal Accounts.

Gabbard's email address was found on Reddit and WikiLeaks connected to WhatsApp and Signal Profiles. Ten other leaks revealed the same pingback.

Oka reached out to Hegses, Waltz and Gabbard for comments.

The discovery of the German news site comes when lawmakers call on Hegses and Waltz to call on Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to resign from accidentally adding it to the signal chats attacking Housis in Yemen.

Earlier in the week, President Trump described the violation as “glitch” after acknowledging that Waltz had learned lessons about best practices in virtual communication. But Trump also suggested that the media is graced with concerns about defense conversations on signalling platforms after accusing some reporters of brushing through security breaches.

“I don't know about the disdain. The press will upplay it. I think it's all witch hunting,” Trump told reporters Wednesday. “The attack was incredibly successful. That's what you were supposed to be talking about in the end.”

Waltz and Hegseth claim that the categorized information is not shared and that they do not know how journalists were added to the messaging chain.

“I didn't see this loser in the group. It looked like someone else,” Waltz told Fox News.

“Right now, we're trying to understand whether he did that intentionally or if it happened in another technical sense,” he added.
