Giants face significant fines for breaching concussion guidelines.

The NFL has imposed significant fines on New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and running back Cam Skatebo following their violation of the league’s concussion policy during a recent game.

In the Week 6 match against the Philadelphia Eagles, quarterback Jackson Dart was taken to the medical tent for a concussion evaluation. While this was happening, Daboll and Skatebo reportedly looked into the tent to check on him.

This incident has proven costly for the Giants, as the NFL levied fines totaling $200,000 against the team, $100,000 against Daboll, and $15,000 against Skatebo, according to a joint statement from the NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA).

“Their actions contradict the requirements of the Concussion Protocol and indicate a disregard for it, constituting a violation,” a statement indicated.

The NFL and NFLPA clarified that Daboll and Skatebo did not influence Dart’s medical testing or treatment. Moreover, the Giants took immediate steps to ensure similar situations don’t occur in the future.

In another storyline, the Giants have had a tough couple of weeks, highlighted by a disheartening fourth-quarter collapse against the Denver Broncos, where they allowed a staggering 33 points in just that frame. This defeat resulted in the team falling to a disappointing 2-5 record for the season, with Dart starting in two of those games.

The Giants are looking to bounce back and avoid any further penalties when they face the Eagles (5-2) again this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
