Giants running back Cam Skattebo’s math abilities challenged after claiming a 2,000-yard season

Cam Skattebo from the Giants expresses regret for comments on CTE and asthma.

Cam Scatterbo’s NFL Journey and Math Skills

NFL enthusiasts familiar with New York Giants running back Cam Scatterbo understand what he contributes to the team. This emerging talent made a mark in 2025, having a solid rookie year until an unfortunate ankle injury cut things short.

His style? Gritty and physical—like a freight train gathering momentum, inspiring teammates with his resilience.

But here’s something you may not have heard: Skatebo’s math skills. Odd, right? His intense focus on math problems has reportedly left those at MIT scratching their heads.

He confidently mentioned, “I got 400 yards on 100 carries. If I play over 17 games this year, it’ll take me 300 carries for over 2,000 yards.” Sounds optimistic—but does that really add up, Cam?

Now, I’m no math whiz, but my calculations suggest that sticking with the average yards per carry from those 100 attempts would lead to about 1,200 yards over a full season. In today’s NFL, where passing dominates, 1,200 yards would still place Skatebo among the top 10 rushers in 2025.

However, that’s quite a distance from his ambitious 2,000-yard estimate. The logic behind that figure? Only he might know. Thankfully, the Giants didn’t draft him for his academic prowess, so those surprised by his math might have missed the memo.

I truly hope that Skatebo fully recovers and has a stellar 2026 season, ideally somewhere between 400 and 2,000 yards. And, well, don’t count on him for any algebra assistance.
